You Are Tiger Town Bound

@mamacat75 congrats! What is your sons intended major?

@mweb136 Thank you! Language and International Business

burghdad, we are also a PA family who hasn’t heard. I was wondering if you have heard anything yet? Two years ago, with my son, we heard in early November, but we haven’t heard anything yet regarding my daughter. Her scores, grades and ranking are better than his, so I would have thought she would have heard by now.

Have not heard anything. However, as I mentioned she only got the “Application complete” email on 11/14 despite having gotten an email on 10-/17 that she didn’t need to send any other documents.

She has a 35ACT and 4.0UW and 4.40W GPA. so I would expect that she would get in but If they really just put her application in line to be reviewed on 11/14 then I don’t expect to hear anything before sometime in December.

@astnvila the waiting is truly the hardest part!

My son received his Tigertown Bound packet on Saturday. He plans on majoring in Mechanical Engineering. We are OOS and he received $15,000.

@BamaMom1971 Congratulations ith a screen like that are you going to let him go to Clemson… :-j

clemson sent out acceptance packets last year much earlier than Feb. my son got his in November last year

I hope it comes before the holidays! It is the last piece of the puzzle before my DD makes a decision!

My daughter received her acceptance today. We are in state. Good luck to those still waiting!!

@UofAAlumJen that’s great. Can you post stats for those who are still waiting?

Sure.
ACT 31
SAT 1390
I think her unweighted gpa is 3.7, weighted 4.5, 7 AP classes including those she is taking senior year.

@UofAAlumJen sorry to bug you, was she offered any scholarship$? I ask because I am trying to asses if they released decision of the $7k scholarships or if it was a regular decision?

Got my acceptance letter today! I want to post my stats for those wondering if they might get in because I know I checked these posts all the time stressing. I have a 31 composite ACT, 3.94 unweighted GPA (my school does not weight), and top 10%. As for rigor, I’ll finish with 8 AP’s, 4 college courses and 9 honors classes. I had decent extracurriculars like some clubs and leadership positions and an internship but they’re more focused on the numbers. This was the second round of scholarships so I got $10,000 per year. The next round of letters for the $7500 should be within the next month or so I believe. Good luck to everyone! Just because you haven’t gotten your letter yet does not mean that you will not get it. Go Tigers!!

@labegg They sent out the 10k scholarships this week. I think they’ll send the 7k ones in 3-4 weeks. That was the time between the 15k and this round at least.

@UofAAlumJen Is your daughter a Palmetto Fellow?

I’m waiting to hear and wasn’t expecting to find out for another 2 months, but after reading through this thread, I’m unsure why I haven’t already received an acceptance and the 15k. I’m OOS with a 34 Composite ACT, 35 Superscore and a 3.9 unweighted GPA (my school doesn’t weight), plus 6 APs and 13 DE credits. My mom suggested I might not have heard yet because I only took two foreign language credits, but Clemson recommends 3. Any advice? Do any accepted students only have two foreign language credits?

@TNGirl13 are you top 10% of class? What major did you apply for?

@TNGirl13 my oos did very similar stats and still hasn’t heard. 4.0uw 4.4w. 6 AP 35act 10 writing. Top 10%. Can’t understand why no acceptance and 15k. Hopefully you will both hear soon

Not everyone hears early and there are a variety of reasons for that. More competitive majors or those with limited spots might wait until more applications are in to assess from their pool of applicants. Some majors just don’t decide early or mail early. Some may not get their first major choice so it goes on to be reviewed by their second choice and that takes longer. It’s icing on the cake if you happen to hear early, but it doesn’t necessarily mean you didn’t get in. I know a student with perfect test scores and top of his class, in-state who has yet to hear. I don’t know for certain but this has been the pattern over the last few years, observed from a nearby high school that sends a lot of kids to Clemson.
