2006 Fall Semester OFFICIAL UPENN transfer Applicant Thread!!!

CONGRATS to people who got accepted...
and for people who still haven't heard, like me...
don't give up hope...
this is just a guess, but may be...
the first batch is equivalent to the Early Admission process,
which accepts more students
and the second batch is probably like the Regular Admission process, which still accepts many students...
and even if you don' thear by next Friday,
don't give up hope b/c there's the third batch: waiting list...
and it would be nice if people in the first and second batch who decide not to enroll at UPENN (ex. Layla.. hehe) notify the school AS SOON AS POSSIBLE so that people in the third batch will hopefully have a higher chance of getting in...

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What do you need to transfer into UPenn from a JC as a business economics major?

Um, I haven't received a decision from Penn yet. So I don't know what you're talking about when you lump me into the category of the "ones in the first and second batch". I'm waiting for my decision still.

sorry Layla...
i meant...
if you happen to be in one of those categories...
but since you got accepted to Columbia which accepts less students,
you'll probably get accepted to Penn...

Layla,
Also, if I remember correctly you said you received a green card for missing materials. It looks like no one who received one of those cards has received a decision yet (there were 6 or so on the board). It makes sense that with 1900 applications, a missing file could make the wait a little longer.

i had all my materials in early and i submitted my application late january, and i still haven't heard :T

I completed the app by Feburary. I had everything in on time :( i wonder why. The best part is i have to respond back to NYU by May 25th, so hopefully i get it back in time to make some rational decisions. I am still waiting 3 other schools to that needs to be out by may25th

Timberland, you're right, and I expect to be in one of those later groups to receive my decision.

callmesoccer, these Ivy League admissions are a crapshoot. I do not expect to be admitted to Penn. I just need to wait and see.

I hope that the missing forms (for me it was just one of my teacher rec's) do not hurt ones chances. It looks like a lot of spots have already been filled so I am extremely nervous.

........rejected.........

aletheia, how did you find out on a sunday?

timberland, i just got home after visiting my parents. i didn't have my pin there, so i was able to log in only now.

Timberland, I don't think something like that hurts your chances. A teacher's rec is somewhat out of your hands.

so the next batch of decisions will be this thursday?

Friday the nineteenth is the latest statement reported from the admissions office.

another whole week to wait.. sighhhh..

I'm going to feel reallyy bad if that green card thangy messes me up- I got a green card early last week saying they needed my SAT I/II scores which I sent centuries ago~I also applied to PENN last year for frosh admissions so they shud regardless have it in their database- Neways I called the adm. office the afternoon I got the postcard and instead of verifying whether indeed they didn't have my scores, the lady on the fone insisted that they probably did and refused to verify- so I'm going to be REALLY mad if they don't have it given that the woman refused to verify- Oh gosh! What if they reject me on those grounds!

Timberland, I wouldn't worry too much about the missing rec. Columbia contacted me about my missing rec in late-April and I was recently accepted there.

Sodfather, when did you hear the 19th? I was thinking a few would probably come out in the middle of this week, since thats how it was last year.

Oh, Sod.
