Admission Decisions - Topic Powered by eve community

I received all four emails already. The fourth email provided me with my NYU application ID. Last week, I also received two mail from NYU. One is a brochure regarding admissions to NYU. The other e-mail is encouraging me to visit their website and decide whether NYU is a "fit" university for me or not.

Did anyone receieve the two mail from NYU?

when did you apply coolant?

I submitted my application on October 24.

I asked that question!

Crazy...

Oh, and since I applied using the Common Application I only got one email.

I turned mine in Late September, but I got some letters in the mail with my NYUID, a financial aid brochure, a NYU IN AND OF THE CITY magazine, and another letter talking about how they're "glad" I applied that they send to all students.

Hopefully I get my acceptance or denial soon; the anticipation is mind numbing.

ok so I guess its normal I didnt get any emails yet then. I submitted last night (yes I realize this is last minute..already had all other forms sent) and it says submitted on the embark website...

i sent mine in on the 29th (maybe it was the early morning of the 30th)...im really wishing i had sent it in earlier...

im kind of dissapointed that i likely wont find out about my decision until december...i had planned on finding out early-mid november, i guess i just wanted to find out on that date so i began to believe what i wanted to believe...sigh...

rcl-usually there are a couple of emails that are sent to you right after you submit your application, i would make sure everything is in order if im you

is there any reason why some people will find out a month or so earlier than others? does it have to do with when somebody submitted their application ie, if an individual applied early on in the game they get a decision early on? or do they accept the exceptionally qualified applicants and deny those who don't have a shot early on and mull on those somewhere in between?

dufflebagjesus, which undergraduate college at NYU did you apply to?

I applied early October, but don't remember the exact date. I applied using the CommonApp and like some of you, have received two pieces of mail regarding my NYU ID# and financial aid information.

Everything I have read and heard leads me to believe that admissions should be mailed out mid-late November.

It's unreal how nervous I am to get my decision. Hopefully, two months from now, we will all be in Washington Square reminiscing about how stressful and elongated this transfer process was!

Good luck to all of you!

I agree wotj EastCo22221! If we all get into NYU, we need to gather up somewhere at NYC and celebrate!

GOOD LUCK TO ALL! =)

coolant-

i am applying to gallatin

i am beyond nervous...i just remember how nervous and upset i was when i opened my rejection letter for freshman admissions, im really reaaaaaaallllyyyyyyyyyy hoping i get in this time aroun

AGH

im hoping that since gallatin is a smaller school and has fewer applicants they will get the decisions out sooner...but i doubt it, im sure they have fewer admissions officers to look at the applications so it will take the same amount of time...alas....

im going to be queezy for the next month or so

thanks for the advice duffle...I called this morning and everything was fine

I am also really nervous!! Duffle you have great stats and already go to a really really well respected college I think you have a really good chance of acceptance. Good Luck.

This is so stressful and nerve-racking! Apparently they never got my college transcripts so I sent them again rushed delivered and now they are saying they still don't have them, but they said their mail is backed up, so I am probably going to send another one just in case.

I hope this doesn't effect my chances but I know it will. sorry i just need to talk to people who understand how serious I feel about going to NYU.

I looked on the NYU 2008 thread and someone found out they got accepted 11-23-2007 (the name was icarus something), so hopefully we will find out around Thanksgiving!

We feel your pain!

Yeah I hope I get denied after Thanksgiving, so I can then go buy my sadness away at the after thanksgiving specials. haha

but really I need to know soon! I tried the NETID thing, but I'm scared they'll see that and be like "dang this guy is desperate. REJECT".

Love3qualsHate,

Don't say that! You will be fine and be admitted.

Dufflebagjesus:

I also applied to Gallatin. Gallatin is a small school compared to the other undergraduate colleges at NYU. So, I hope they send out the decisions sooner! =)

!!! michael w-

when i applied for freshman admissions they said they didnt recieve my hs transcript. i called back a couple days later after lots of panic and they did actually have it...i would certainly rush another transcript out to be safe, but it may be that nyu is just disorganized or doesnt have all your files together yet...really not fair however to make applicants panic because of this though...

lovehate-

do NOT try to log into your web id thing..definantly not worth it risking your admittance in order to find out your decision a bit sooner

im hoping gallatin decisions go out sooner as well...i dont think i can take much more of this stress, its pretty darn agonizing...

good luck errybody

I applied last minute as well... from daytona state college (florida) I actually would prefer going to Columbia but they don't accept spring transfers u_u my top choices were UPenn, Cornell and NYU... I also applied to Union college and Hofstra (anyone else applying to those schools?)

Also, how did you guys respond to the short answer questions on the supplement? I'll post mine if others do (:

that is quite a range of schools you are applying to artsymed...

if you do not mind me asking, what are your stats?

also, if you wish to swap short answers please PM me, doing it on the forums is probably not the best idea

What is the NetID you guys are talking about?
