did your current school just give you your transcript? can i do that too?

Both Columbia and my CC gave me official sealed copies of my transcript that NYU said I could bring to the office. I know your in Ohio so you can't exactly walk over, but I would call NYU tomorrow and ask if they would allow you to send your official transcript rather than Oberlin. This way you could priority/express mail it. I think that would help. They did tell me their mail was backed up so keep in touch with the filing office because it may show up. I hope that helps and good luck!

My school mailed my transcript to NYU two weeks ago. I called them today and was infromed that my transcript is on "file". However, they are still missing my high scool transcript.

i mailed my official transcripts myself, i sent two and expressed mailed one of them. at least we know it's normal for them not to have everyones materials on file at this point. hopefully they get all of our stuff together soon, ideally i'd like to find out if i was accepted or not this month or really as soon as possible so i can start my plan b.

your high school record and sat scores are not weighed as heavy if you already have a year of college under your belt. i have no idea what financial aid is like though.

I'm a junior transfer, but I did not take the SATs in high school. Would this result in an automatic rejection? I'm applying to Tisch, so I don't know if it's different.

I just looked back at the 2008 and 2007 NYU transfer threads on this board and it looks as though people first found out on 11/23/08 and 11/14/07... or something close to that. So it doesn't look like the wait will be painfully long. Good luck everyone! Unfortunately for me, all my eggs are in this basket.

Will NYU accept faxed documents?

i don't know, but i would call the admissions office, i've called them for things and they were really nice.

dufflebagjesus
call them today about your transcript, i called and they have my transcript now so maybe they have yours in the system today too.

i know decisions should be coming soon! i'm starting to get nervous now and all my eggs are not in the nyu basket, but this basket is my favorite one! does that even make sense!?

good luck to everyone! hopefully we will see some acceptance letters soon!! keep thinking positive!

I like that basket too! lol

mann i've been buying so many jackets and sweaters and stuff because no matter what I'm going to the east coast next semester...and all my cali sweaters are super thin

haha

hows the weather there?

Wow.. peparing already.

What brands do you buy? A/X? AF? Diesel? CK?

Just curious

Yeah it's about 2 months away!

I went to Southcoast Plaza and bought a huge A/X parka, a diesel thermal sweater, some sweaters at a store called A--A, and an Ed Hardy sweater. I'm gonna wait before I buy anymore because If I do end up going only to that internship thing and not NYU then i'll just be on the east coast for a semester and then I'll be backin hot ass cali.

Hopefullly not though "]

Do you guys think it's colder in NY than up north in canada like montreal? I went there last year and It wasn't THAT bad---a thermal and two sweaters sufficed haha

Im scared because I was talking to an NYU alum a few days ago and he told me that I'm going to hate transferring in spring because it's so cold i'll be burned out by fall...you guys think it's true?

i'm from southern california too and i don't own a jacket! i have a hoodie and that's it.

if i get in i will buy some jackets! i don't know if it's colder than montreal, but i'm sure there will be days when it's freezing.

i hope i get in, it would be cool to experience real seasons!

hey did any of you send in your transcripts etc. well before you submitted your online application. I sent in all my supplements around the 20th of oct and submitted app oct. 30 which is why I am worried my files will not be placed with my application.

I was told that if you send in your application materials beforehand they put them in the computer and just wait until they have an application to match it with.

I'm also excited about real seasons! I especially want to see the yellowing of the leaves during autumn "] Walking down central park with coffee and taking in all of the beautiful sights...

ahhhh I want it soo badly!

arghh they don't have my HS transcripts that I sent in september.

theyre lame

ahh, that sucks! that's what happened to me and my college transcript, i sent it with my high school transcript in early october and they had my high school transcript but not my college one. i express mailed a college transcript and they have it now, but i sent it express october 31.

maybe express mail one as soon as you can? did they say that it might be in house?

I told them that I sent it in a while back so they said to call back monday.

Just in case though I went to my HS and requested them to send another in, but that could take up to a week.

:[

aw you guys are cute being excited for the seasons. Being a New Yorker my whole life, I guess I am unphased by this point.

Love3qualsHate

that's cool you are a new yorker! being from southern california we don't really have seasons, but it's cool being able to wear shorts during news years though.
