Son got his acceptance letter today to Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences - Pre Physical Therapy and the UHC. Looking forward to the DPT Guarantee letter next week!

He sent his SAT scores on 10/24 and his transcripts were received around 11/8.

Accepted today to Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences for Neuroscience!

Hoping for honors and scholarships, but from what ive heard I dont have much of a chance.

DD Accepted in NJ to Swanson.

1430 CR+CM (low W score)

Our child has applied to Pitt via the Pitt Prestige application. Today in the mail came a Pitt magnet, thanking our child for applying. Is this standard procedure? Or a sign the applicaiton is being viewed favorably? I can’t imagine Pitt is sending magnets to every single applicant

We got a Pitt magnet yesterday and my daughter is a junior. We visited in September. That being said, it seems as though it is a favorable gesture.

Pitt used to send out magnetic frames sized to accommodate 4X6 photos with the imprint “Picture Yourself at Pitt.” Those were sent out rather liberally. This is going back about four years however.

Did your acceptance say you were accepted to UHC?
Or did it say you will be considered for UHC and merit aid?

tamtiger,
Received your PM but cannot PM you back because I don’t have enough post yet. To answer your question, son’s Full Tuition Scholarship notification letter was dated Nov 18th. We did receive a separate letter from UHC dated Nov 6th. However, the wordings in the letter did not sound like a formal “addimission” which triggered me to post on CC.

Best luck to your D!

Ocean…from your earlier posts your son’s scores are very high and he has great subject test scores (not required for Pitt, but for most top schools). Was Pitt his safety or were you thinking that it might be more of a match? Or, was Pitt his choice because of the environment in general? Just curious as we are trying to navigate these admissions waters.
Congrats to your son!

Pitt use to send car decals with acceptances. UHC sent out a t-shirt (for DS #1 but nothing from them for DS #2). They have also sent out calendars and posters. I guess it depends upon their budget. And if you do attend one of their “official” Pitt programs, you will get a free t-shirt.

Got my acceptance letter today, but no scholarship information.

Got into today with conditional acceptance to their PharmD program but no scholarship info.
I’m happy yet bummed

Congrats to our newest admits! Did ur letters say anything that your app would be looked at for scholarships? Most don’t get scholarship with admit letter (I think) but some get a mention that they will be notified at a later time IF they get scholarship.

Soccerng - my daughter also got conditional pharmacy and is completely psyched! But we, too, are waiting to hear about scholarship money. Pitt is #1 for her after 2 visits and a great meeting in the pharm school. Having the conditional is a bonus! Did your acceptance letter mention the possibility of scholarship? What about UHC?

@PharmDmom Congrats on your daughter’s acceptance!

I really love the pharmacy school at Pitt too! And I’m super happy on my conditional acceptance. It’s my second choice though because I am OOS and I’d really need a merit scholarship to afford going there for 6 years. I didn’t get into the UHC and nothing about scholarship info was there either.

My stats are a 3.929/4.0 W, and a 1900 SAT (1390 CR + M). My school doesn’t do UW on our transcripts but my GPA is about a 3.5 UW and it doesn’t rank either. I know my stats are a little low but I was crossing my fingers to at least get into UHC. :/

Son was accepted to Pitt on 10/28 and similar to Ocean 12 received a separate letter from UHC indicating he was in the UHC or close to being accepted, but it was not clear in saying “you are in the UHC” He also received today scholarship. He (and his parents) are all jolly!

My D got acceted to Pitt and received separate mail for UHC including a call from Pitt UHC. However, she still didn’t receive any scholarship letter. :(

did your daughter’s acceptance letter mention she would be in scholarship pool? and congrats on admission!
