Slavic Studies :)>-

@ilovethecity not very popular one… I have never seen someone with major in slavic studies((

I sent in my ED application last week! Good luck to all.

Does anyone know if there’s any way of verifying wether or not Columbia has received your test scores? After reading old Columbia ED threads, it seems like early applicants are emailed a Columbia ID about a week after applying, and can check the status of their applications using that ID. Has anyone gotten one of these yet?

I got my Columbia ID here.

I’m SO nervous! I put my intended major as Biochemistry (which I talked about in my intended major essay), East Asian Studies (interest implied in Common App Essay), and Visual Arts (directly addressed through Art Supplement and Common App Essay). I just want to know already ; - ;

@ilovethecity I applied for French and Francophone studies as well!

I’m so nervous that it’s ridiculous.

Guys when do decisions come out? Is it Dec. 15?

I’m so nervous ughH. I got my Columbia ID in an email today, though! I put my intended majors as neuroscience and behavior, dance, and French!

@sparkl3 “Admission decisions for first-year candidates who apply Early Decision are typically available on or before December 15”, from the Columbia website :)

Pure biochemistry for me! How does everyone feel about their chances?

I don’t feel confident about my chances… too low ACT scores and…asian

I have no idea how to feel about my chances… like quantitatively (all of my scores, etc.), I should be fine, but you never know how they’ll interpret your application holistically

Applied ED 5 days ago! I’m majoring in Urban Studies with a focus on either Architecture or Political Science! December 15th is going to start the best week before winter break or a tough one we’ll wait and see!

I’m applying ED for the JTS List College Joint Program. I can’t wait till Dec. 15 lol

@yellowboy
If anything is going to hinder me from admission, it would probably be my SAT scores, which are below Columbia’s average. Other than that, I have enough SAT II and AP scores to make up for it (well, hopefully). But I think I really conveyed a sense of passion for Columbia and French language in my essays, and I think my main Common App essay is good.

@ilovethecity Ah to be honest I really think Columbia and the ivies in general don’t put as much emphasis on SATs and scores as they do on your other stuff as long as they’re not too low. How’d you (and other Columbia ED hopefuls) think your supplements were?

Hey!
I also applied ED to Columbia this November from London

I’m so worried because I’m certain I didn’t do well on my SAT subjects :’(

I sat in on a French class at Columbia this past Friday, and it was incredibly fun. The professor was like 25, and her teaching style was so vibrant and creative. I learned so much! There were kids in my class from China and Russia, both grads and undergrads. I love Columbia’s diversity and I hope I get in.
