Congrats to @dogsrthebest and @bzlizy!! @DEmomma, I’m hoping your D can transfer into the nursing program or perhaps there can be an appeal to admissions for her to enter the program. Don’t give up! @bzlizy I certainly understand about the tuitions! Thinking I may need a car magnet that says… “my two kids and all my money goes to UD!”

Yes to the first response. My son got his UD acceptance right around the time I was filling out the FAFSA. To date, he has only received one FA package from an early December acceptance. We still haven’t seen a FA package from UD.

How have you guys been hearing back? Email? Website? Or mail?

@jjkelly13 we saw the change on the portal today. We have not received the yellow acceptance package yet

@jjkelly13 the acceptance was on the website portal around 3pm (eastern) today. My S’s status never changed to anything other than “your application is being reviewed” and then today his acceptance was posted. It appears as though there have been many differences on how the portal was handled so I wouldn’t read into anything. You will just have to wait and see. The wait is almost over so good luck!! I suspect the UD acceptance packet will arrive within 7-10 days.

Reading all this posts makes my heart break! What the heck is going on with UD? I think the new admission process has them confused and disorganized! Should have never changed it and I’m OOS. We first heard of acceptance via email followed by snail mail. Still no word about FA. I’m praying all S’s & D’s hear good news soon!!

@jjkelly13 D portal changed to accepted around 3:00 today. No email or snail mail yet. Good luck, hang in there.
Congrats @dogsarethebest!!

@Bzylizy thanks!! Congrats to you too!

So, my daughter sent an email to admissions this Tuesday updating with an award she won over the weekend. Just got an email today thanking her for the update and that her application is still under review and they will add this new information to her file and make sure it’s seen by an admissions officer. Really. Sent it on a whim since I can’t imagine they are still not sure about an applicant who applied the beginning of November. I feel like they have been stringing along a lot of kids (and parents) or at the very least appear disorganized to those who aren’t the top applicants. Vent over.

And a big congrats to those who heard today!!!

I couldn’t have said it better my self @hellolabas I’m really at a loss my D has been waiting since oct 8 dont get it really don’t get it what they have to think about at this point is the big question it’s just a Shame but I’m right here with you

One more thing they really know how to make you feel like the bottom of the list it’s like let’s see who’s better that comes along and if nobody does we will give you the spot

@miesha5 What is your daughter’s 1st choice major? Second? You said they were both hard to get into to. My daughter was Biomedical Engineering but didn’t get it. Very bummed.

My daughter received merit scholarship today in the mail. The portal has not changed. She was accepted in mid February. For those waiting on merit it looks like it’s starting to come. Good Luck to all and congrats to the people who just got accepted.

My D 1 major was exsersise science 2 athletic training

For those of you who have been on here for a while, do you think paying a deposit affects the amount of aid or merit one would be offered? My daughter was accepted on Friday, like many others, and was so excited as it’s her first choice that we paid the deposit right away. My husband is upset thinking this decreases the chance of receiving aid now that they already know she wants to come there. We are out of state.

@dancergirlmom Was your daughter accepted to the honors program? If so she will likely get some type of merit.

There is no relationship between when an accepted student pays their deposit and being awarded merit aid or any other financial aid. Non-merit financial aid is determined by the FAFSA information submitted. Merit aid is determined by an applicants level of scholastic achievement (most significantly standardized test scores). Again when a student submits their deposit is irrelevant in these determinations (as long as it is submitted by the May 1 deadline).

Awarded merit aid 3 days after letter of admission (3/8). OOS applicant.

^^^^my post. I just noticed that the date on the merit scholarship is dated 2/28. Written more than a week before we knew about admittance.
