@mwallenmd Thank you for that info. I appreciate you sharing. We are going to contact admissions to make sure she hasn’t fallen through the cracks.

well my D WAS JUST WAITLISTED

Was anybody else waitlisted also?

CAN SOMEBODY TELL ME MY CHANCES AND HOW IT WORKS
WAITLISTED

No update here.

No update for me. I don’t know what to think.

@miesha5, last stats I saw from 2012 were 2502 were placed on the waitlist, of those 928 decided to stay on the waitlist (you can decide to stay or reject the offer) and out of those 928, 640 were ultimately accepted so the odds are pretty high in 2012.

In 2013 I think it was a bit different:
Place students on a waiting list:

of applicants offered a place on waiting list: 1,488

accepting a place on the waiting list: 527

of wait-listed students admitted: 288

% of students admitted from waiting list: 55%

She will need to show lots of enthusiasm and determination so they know she wants to go there.

I am sorry to hear after all this waiting that waitlist was the answer. She needs to remain positive and find that place for her. She will do fine and a few months from now this will all be a faint memory.

thanks she ok with it surprisingly i think because it wasn’t a flat out no after all this time we have just decided to drive down there fri and see what we can do I’m gonna call tomorrow see if I can make her some kind of appt and of course we accepted the wait list

If you are waitlisted and are still interested in going to UD then you need to accept placement on the waitlist ASAP (like today). Unless things have changed the waitlist is not ranked (but it is probably broken down by major applied to). So basically it is first come-first served, so the sooner you accept placement on the list the better your chances. Historically UD has generally accepted a decent number off the waitlist but because it varies from year to year so it is not possible to accurately predict ones chances. But I would say the odds are reasonable, if you act fast. Unfortunately while UD in the past has taken students off the wait list in April the majority do not find out until the beginning of May, after the May 1 deadline. Good luck.

Is anyone else still waiting for a decision? I don’t know if it’s a good or bad thing.

No word for my son however 4 friends were accepted on Friday and 1 friend wait listed (nursing) today. This is the most activity we have heard in a while so I am optimistic we will all hear by the end of the week. Does the admissions office take off for spring break next week?

@honeypie1212 I don’t believe they do take off. I know if you are a Blue Hen Ambassador being there for summer time and breaks are needed. I can’t imagine they admin shuts down during break given the busy time it is for college admissions. Just my guess.

waitlisted today too

Waitlist

My daughters best friend wait listed today. No decision for us today.

My D was put on Waitlist today.

My S waitlisted too :(

My S wait listed today as well

Im just going to put this out there in the universe I truly hope those not thinking they are going to attend and have been accepted will withdraw for those waiting :x

For those of you now waitlisted do not give up hope. This was our same scenario two years back. My d immediately accepted the waitlist spot. She also wrote a letter to admissions letting them know of her continued desire to attend udel. In the meantime we continued on looking at her other options even though she was not happy about it!!! Prior to May 1st we accepted a spot at another school to insure she was going somewhere. Then just around May 1st her guidance counselor contacted admissions to remind them of her continued interest. Somewhere around May 5th suddenly her portal changed and she received an email that she was being taken off the waitlist and offered a spot. She is happily finishing her jr yr at udel!!! Dont give up…be positive. I know several students who share this story
