Delaware Class of 2018 Acceptances

my S has been waiting over 12 weeks to hear back! I am goingwacky…lol! p.s. 2 of his friends got in weeks ago and 2 have been waitlisted (this week).

We applied Oct 29. Application complete! Yes, it’s agonizing. I’m mostly concerned that I haven’t heard many people being denied. Are they saving the denials for now?

If thats the case…what a shame to string us out!!! We can deal with NO… This waiting game is BS. I don’ want to waste money with deposits at other schools…then to hear in early MAY??? This is his first choice, but we can move on from here…

Yes you can move on…as they say, if it was meant to be!! My D was denied, but asked UD admissions to reconsider under a different major. She did all that admissions suggested and has not heard anything back. A few reach outs to make sure they received everything, but no response. That’s just the way it works…she is 1 out of how many??? Everything happens for a reason and it has been great watching her accept that.

Just noticed my D status changed from wait listed (this week) to Application (today). Is this a good thing?

So did my D was getting worried

I think it might be a glitch

My daughter applied in December. She received an e-mail on Feb 24th indicating she would receive a decision in 2 to 3 weeks. Still waiting as of today :(

My application also changed from waitlist to Application.

Have all of you already accepted the “waitlist” offer? If so I’m thinking this is the way they distinguish the difference between being offered waitlist and you actually accepting it and being on the list. fingers crossed for you all! :)

D applied before Nov 1 and still hasn’t heard anything? How do they inform you. online or snail mail?

@momyesmom portal first, email a few hours later, snail mail 2 days later

My D heard first on her portal then received a letter a few days later. Both contained her merit scholarship.

Most on here were notified thru the portal however my son got his acceptance thru snail mail as his portal did not change to “accepted” until two weeks after he received his snail mail notification!

portal first then snail mail about 1 week later.

Well if it makes anyone feel better don’t give up heart yet .Patience may win out. Prepare for an odd story.

D was accepted into 9 schools (all nursing including Pitt, Case, Villanova and BC). We had not heard anything from Delaware, but that note a month or so back saying we would be hearing shortly and that they were still interested. Then, today we received a call from Delaware congratulating D. on her acceptance to the Nursing school and asking her if Delaware was among her top choices in her final selection process. They were gauging interest… So folks, ask me if we have received the packet yet or if the portal has changed? Ooops no. Neither. lol.

We are pleased that she’s been accepted as we live in Washington DC, but think admissions needs to rethink its process. She visited last March and applied in the fall. Depending on Delaware’s, package we may run up and take a fuller look at the nursing program, but right now it’s between CASE and Pitt.

washdcmom:
I would recommend that should you decide to give UD Nursing a look that you might want to attend one of the UD Decision Days on April 12 or 19. There is a 21/2-3 hour Program component in the morning just for students accepted into the Nursing Program. You should be able get a good sense of what the Nursing Program is like by attending this and also be able to get any questions answered you might have by the Nursing faculty. IMHO it is a very good Program (an informed decision is usually the best one). Good luck to your D wherever she decides to attend.

Anyone see a portal update today? Still hoping the decision is posted today!

Nothing today :(

The coach at UD checked admissions 10 days ago and sent my D an email saying she was accepted. We still havent received any official word from admissions. My D doesnt want to meet the team and then be denied after all. Whats the holdup?
