January 2010 SAT Score Prediction

Please see http://www.erikthered.com/tutor/SAT-Released-Test-Curves.pdf</a> for historical curves. Make sure that you calculate raw scores correctly: multiply number of multiple choice questions that were wrong by 1.25, and then round in your favor for .5.

Thanks silverturtle, great information. But what I still don’t understand is that, given my writing MC subscore (70-71) , how can I compile it with my essay score (9-10) to obtain the overall estimation ? Thanks.

For a rough idea, use the information here: https://satonlinecourse.collegeboard.com/SR/digital_assets/pdfs/eri/scoring_2006-2007.pdf</a>.</p>

Silverturtle, I’m just wondering–What grade are you in?

I am a high school junior – one who needs to go now to read Paradise Lost and do my AP Biology theme cards. :)

Oh alright – You go do that.
I feel slightly better about myself now because I’m a sophomore.

Hey anyone guess what math section doesn’t factor in? I felt great on three of them, but the third one in sucked :(. I panicked and ended up skipping the last four. Really hoping since everyone thinks it was so easy that the other three were the real ones!

CR: -6
Math: -0
Writing: -1 (essay at least 10… , hopefully.)

what score should i expect for CR?
hope it’s over 700… T T
people in my school are saying that the curve would be really bad for this month’s
test cuz it was so easy… they are saying that -5 would be the last cut for 700?
is that true???

CR was easy? Really? Ugh

there are like 10 people in my school who are expecting 2400 T T
and it was definitely easier than DEC test.
(i took both of them)
the 700 cut for DEC test was -7
so they are thinking -6 or even -5 for this one

Yeah, let me know how that one turns out… :)

^ :D

Many schools are fortunate if they have one student who scores over a 2000.

When do the scores come out anyways?

I’m not kidding
the school average is over 2300
and we already have 8 people who got 2400 (not combined)
the school was even introduced in the New York Times
search Korean Minjok Leadership Academy if you can’t believe me

this school is just crazy
i’m not even kidding

^It does seem like a very highly-performing school. Inform us in the January results thread of how you and your classmates fared.

@SummaAlum: Internet score delivery will occur on February 12.

^Wow that sounds like an intense school.
However a 2400 can’t be guaranteed until you actually get your scores. Even though a person might think they got everything right [based off of answers given on CC forums, haha], he/she could have always unknowingly made other mistakes.
At best I’m looking at a 2400…at worst a 2300. which is great, because my only goal for this test was a 2300+ anyways :p

Honestly, was expecting total of around 2100.
But after checking my answers -

R 590
M 650
W 670

1910, unbelievably low. I cannot believe how many questions on reading threw me off.
Especially the father and son passage - that one question asking if the father’s reason for
not going on freeway(??) was incomplete or defensive, I honestly thought both worked.
Ugh…it’s already done with, and I’m considering cancelling my score.

when is the next SAT date? haha

780-800 Math (well according to that other thread, everything so far is right, but just in case)

650-780 Writing (left 2 grammar, 1 or 2 might be wrong, I think my essay was better than all my practice ones ^_^)

650-790 Critical Reading (1 sentence completion omitted (that penchant/locutions one), I think 2 passage questions may be wrong)

My first SAT, junior year. I’m hoping I do well, I don’t want to have to write this test again, it’s so long and slippery…

Any good predictions of curves this time?
