January 2012: Math Level 2

bear111
sorry, can’t remember is 72 was (E).

Ok yea then it was the largest, cuz they went in order. Phew, i rushed through first 20, so sorta scared I made a dumb mistake.

Hiking, but if the question said “contains” then why wouldn’t (-4,7) work? The interval includes (-2,2)

For the sin problem where they asked for the frequency, was it 1/pi?

can someone explain the frequency problem? i ignored the value side, i thought it said that the mean of the distribution side equals something from the distribution, so i did 1+2+3+x+1/5 = 1, 2 or 3 and then 2 fit so 7+x=10 and x=3??

hkim0713

It would work, but it wasn’t an answer coice.

I did get 1/pi for the frequency.

wesura
you do average = (01+23+32+4x+5*1)/(1+3+2+x+1) = 0, 2, 3, 4, or 5. If x =4, then you get 33/11 = 3. It’s a weighted average.

Hiking: Wasn’t (-5,5) one of the choices too?

Somewhere2017
don’t think so

What’s everybody thinking the curve’s gonna be?

For the question that asked what stays the same if u add 5 to all values, was the answer standard deviation?

bearr111:
yes, that’s what i put

bear111
I. was standard deviations are equal (true)
II. modes are equal (false)
what was III?

about the curve, i dunno, it was kinda harder than i expected…

Hiking:
Uhh, i thought answer choices were abcde?

bear111
Sorry–I must have confused it with a practice problem I did last night.
In any case, standard deviation is not affected by adding or subtracting the same number to/from each score, so you’re right.

Hiking7610 lol just out of curiosity how many times have you taken the math2? (I’ve seen you post on like every math 2 thread loll)

Somewhere2017
This is my 3rd time, but I canceled the Oct & Nov ones

Hiking:
Thx. Also, for the problem about the husband driving 50mph and wife at 60mph, wat was the answer?
