And didn’t the problem say “Under which of the following intervals does ________”, not using the word “CONTAINS” at all?</p>

The question definitely said “contains” in it, which means (-4,7) couldn’t have been one of the answer choices. The three choices I remember were (0, 2), (-3, 3), (-1,4).</p>
