January 2012: Math Level 2

The angles for the airplanes problem were 27 and 39, so the answer is 8/tan 27-8/tan39, which is 5.82

Forgot to add this
-(r,q) q=-r

And bear, I put that toooo. :)

I still think the answer is (0,2)
Does anybody remember (-5,5) also being an option?

**catcat18: **
I put (0,z,0), too for the what is g(f(x,0,z)) question.

Catcat, that’s the right answer. Damn, I had that but didn’t fill it in the bubble sheet because I thought I did something wrong.

How about this?
f(2x+3) = x
Then f(x) = ?
Was the answer D or E?

i said it was E

CatCat: Do you remember the other options for the (-3,3) one?

…Well, my confidence just fell a ton after reading this…

I was rereading the thread from the beginning and saw you asked what the first question was. I think it was the greatest common divisor one.

hiking: 72 was answer to question 1, right?

iamBOSS:
Yeah. The greatest common divisor of 72, 144, and 216 was 72.

Someone plz tell me what the answer to xΔy= |x|-y^2 is? It asked for which statement is true, I put (-x)=(x) or something like that?

the problem about (0,2), (-3,3): If (-4,7) was one of the options, according to the theory proposed earlier about the word “CONTAINS”, wouldn’t (-3,3) AND (-4,7) be right answers? And didn’t the problem say “Under which of the following intervals does ________”, not using the word “CONTAINS” at all?

bear111
I think the question asked xΔy is the same as… and I think I put -xΔy.

yessss i got it!

Bear111, I put -x?y as the answer, since -x will be x in the absolute value sign.

Catcat,hiking, thanks :)

Hiking:
Do you remember if 72 the largest answer choice?

**hkim0713 **
The question definitely said “contains” in it, which means (-4,7) couldn’t have been one of the answer choices. The three choices I remember were (0, 2), (-3, 3), (-1,4).

what do you guys think the curve will be? was this a hard test?

hkim: YESSS that is exactly what the question said i am sure of it now…i have a feeling that they may void the question and make the whole test out of 49, because of that typo…
