NYU Spring Transfer 2014

EHbfnhsnfsrhrtnskdrtnj CONGRATS!!! Which faculty???

And for the rest of us, good things (hopefully) come to those who patiently wait.

Congrats!! What’s your major and when did you apply?! @teamawesomese

It might sound a little offensive, but has anyone gotten a denial email? Does the admission office send out all the acceptance letters first and hold the denial letters until the end? I literally refresh this thread and my email inbox every 5 min.

Well looks like nothing today… Fingers crossed for Thursday now
But great job @teamawesomese

I believe I applied around the 17th.
My current major is health information management. My declared major on the application was economics but I’m going to change to the Econ/math major lol
Good luck to everybody!

My checklist on Albert was completed today (as of right now). But they sent me an email saying I was missing important docs, when I have called/emailed them already to confirm everything. Dang it. Just had a mini heart attack.

@victorchlee: I got the same e-mail, but my college still didn’t send my transcript… :/

And congrats to everyone who got in so far!

@Teamawesomese that’s great! I am an econ major as well

Same here, mine were checked off a couple days ago…after talking to admissions about missing a transcript from a semester abroad. I was really hoping to hear back today…so NYU definitely sends out decisions on Thursdays too? I can’t wait until December lol I just wanna know! I hope all the acceptances aren’t sent out now and everyone else gets rejected when December rolls around…I am an Econ/Chinese double major. I called NYU and asked if all of us econ majors are competing with one another for admission or if we compete with all of the CAS applicants, they told me it was the latter. Does anyone have any idea why they are sending out some acceptances now, before the December date?

@dsgraf12 I am an econ major as well! All I know is that when I emailed one of the admissions people, she said that they are working to get all decision within the coming weeks and that there is no specific order. So basically we can find out at any time since it’s on a rolling basis.

Hello everyone,

I am new to this thread and forum. I am also applying to CAS econ and math double major from a large state school in NY state.
HS GPA: 4.0
college GPA: 3.9
credits: 80 plus, but 30 of them are business core (I was a business major before, but switched to lib arts, so they won’t transfer)
didn’t send SATs,
lots of extracurricular involvement, like clubs and research programs, also volunteer programs
I am currently in junior standing at my school, so I am a little worried that because of the amount of credits I have NYU won’t consider my application.
do you think this is something I should be worrying about?
Thanks and wish everyone luck!

Hey guys! congrats to those who got accepted for Spring 2014!!

i myself is in a process for transfer but i still have to gather all my documents and transcripts and common app. so i was hoping if anyone can help me out with the common app, for registrar report how do you guys filled that one? and for the midterm report on common app do you guys fill the on-going courses on the current semester or the courses from previous semester??

best of luck to all of you

The registrar report is supposed to be filled out by someone at your current school who has access to your grades. My school the judicial affairs office filled this form out for me, but your school might be different so ask what office or department would be able to fill it out. The midterm report is supposed to be filled out with your current classes you are taking now not the previous semester. Just go up to your professors and ask them to fill it out with your current grade and their signature.

Hi, Im gonna apply for the autumn semester but I’m now preparing it…
An international student currently in UW-Madison.
Current year: freshman
First semester GPA:4.0 (though this semester has not ended but I’m quite confident…) Math(calc3) Econ Physics and a required english class which does not account for GPA but worth 3 credits…
Sat 2100 (M+CR=1420)
Subject test Math2 800 Chem 800 Phy 770
HS GPA: 89 out of 100
EC: some, but not many… have filmed a personal movie in HS

So I called about financial aid today, but they only told me information about loans… I’m hoping thats because they just haven’t assessed me for grants yet, ughh

does anyone know if merit scholarships are actually given out for transfer students? i don’t qualify for financial aid, so merit scholarship is what im hoping for.

@flower1294 I received my financial aid award yesterday. I don’t qualify for need based aid, so my only hope was merit. I got a small scholarship from the CAS and a work study. I called today to see if there’s anything else I could get but they said that’s pretty much the max they offer to transfers :/

Yeah same thing happened with me. :/

@lizz2152
@JusPhys

Does NYU still extend loans up to the cost of education? They do give out full loans right?

Did decisions not come out today?
