No, I didn’t. When I called I was answered immediately so I’m sure if you had any questions / want to confirm, just find their number on the website.
@grr2021 glad to hear they’ll be using it!!
I’m so nervous!! Anyone know / think they know why they were waitlisted? I know it was my grades (3.5 UW lol), although I was surprised I wasn’t straight up rejected!!
@Swillow1022 I’m guessing its my DACA status, my essay, and average ECs.
Large Financial Aid Requirement as an international student.
when do you guys think they’ll release the first wave of waitlist decisions?
@crowningflowers most probably 19 may
And most likely, that would be for the international students.
If we estimate that Columbia waitlisted 1200 applicants and 800 accepted. Out of those 800, 400 sent in the statement of high interest… This leads to pretty good odds? What do you think?
To be clear, no one else got a confirmation after they sent in their LOCI, right?
@efitghr I didn’t get a confirmation
@ModiModi Hm… I think it depends on their yield. If they have a high yield the odds are low regardless. Although, I feel like everyone that accepted the waitlist probably sent a letter? Or at least more than half? I’m not sure why people would accept if they didn’t have a high interest…
@Swillow1022 I’ve seen plenty of people accepting waitlists just to see if they can make it and many more who are lazy enough to draft a letter.
Guys, I just knew I received a confirmation email after I sent in my LOCI… the email was basically like this
"Dear XXX,
Thank you for responding to our offer to remain on our waitlist.
As a reminder, should you remain very interested in Columbia, we encourage you to send a brief supplementary statement to ugrad-confirm@columbia.edu no later than May 1, if you have not already done so. Meanwhile, you should be sure to reserve a place at another school by the common reply date of May 1.
If places become available in our incoming class, we will review the entire waitlist. Typically, we notify students via email between May 15 and June 30.
If you are no longer interested in Columbia and wish to withdraw from the waitlist, please let us know via email to ugrad-confirm@columbia.edu.
With our best wishes and sincere appreciation for your interest in Columbia,
Jessica Marinaccio
Dean of Undergraduate Admissions and Financial Aid"
I feel like this email was automatically sent bc they didn’t even know I had already sent my LOCI. Btw, I sent in my LOCI on Apr. 16 and got this email on 25th.
Anyone got the same email?
@HarryZ527 I think that to everyone who responded yes to the waitlist response form (because I got it before I submitted my LOCI, but after I said yes on the waitlist response form). I don’t think it was confirmation that they recieved your LOCI
@HarryZ527 Yeah I got that email after I responded yes to the waitlist but before I send my LOCI… But if it makes anyone feel better I updated Columbia in early March and they never responded, but I’m 99% sure they received it because if not I would’ve been rejected. I think it’s their standard to just never respond, lol.
any news?
nada on my end rip
Probably won’t start accepting from waitlist till the 15th, but I know a lot of schools are accepting / releasing earlier this year…
