@econlife: I think it’s really hard to say. I’d probably rather have the avg GPA w/o TAP. We don’t really know how much TAP actually weighs on your GPA and TAP is not a guarantee either.

Hey guys I started a Decisions thread. Okay yea it’s too soon but I can’t stand it! At this point I want to be accepted to UCLA to say that I was accepted, but I want to go to UCSD. I got accepted to SDSU but I want UCSD. UCSD’s decisions for transfers start “mid-March”, which technically is in one week. Maybe they’ll be early? I can’t stand it I tell you. Here’s my thread start for decisions: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-california-san-diego/1468510-2013-ucsd-transfer-decisions-thread.html

Thanks @HopingtoXfer but those seem to be 2012 dates. I assume it will be similar, which means UCSD decisions could be released in a week to 10 days. Nevertheless, if someone hears something, please post it on the Decisions thread!

@ eyespy: Make sure to take those dates with a grain of salt or you will end up pulling your hair out. LOL. The UC’s release their decisions in several batches, some schools daily, some bi-weekly and it doesn’t seem like its by major/gpa or whatever. Last year I waited for UCSD and UCI well up until April. Good luck everyone!

Chance me again?

@iDizzle arghhhhhhh I can’t wait until April! Okay breathe in, breathe out. Breathe in, breathe out…

@ eyespy: LOL. seriously, look ahead and know that the decision day will come. Trying to anticipate it on a certain date will kill you. LOL. Last year UCSB released decisions daily where as UCSD released decisions in a total of 3 or 4 batches I think. UCI had been very quiet for almost a month before releasing more decisions after the first batch was released. It’s very unpredictable. The only ones you can count on are UCLA and Cal

@iDizzle. I hear ya. I will practice yoga breathing and just wait to hear!

^^LOL. My sister told me that she got accepted to UCR and CSULB so far. Anyone else?

Well… I got accepted to SDSU, but I want to go to UCSD. Hence the hair-pulling.

accepted to CAL POLY SLO

SOCIOLOGY MAJOR

What are my chances? I reallyyyy want to get in!

Do you guys know if you can switch into Econ and acct at ucsb? I applied to math/Econ and put Econ/acct as my 2nd choice. I have the reqs done and a good gpa(3.86).

Can anyone chance me? as OUT OF STATE??!!

I’m an oos applicant from nyc and have applied to UCB, UCLA, UCSD, UCI, UCSB.
(don’t ask me why i wanna leave nyc, i just love uc’s)

I’m currently attending community college majoring in econ. My stat is

Transferring from 2 year college in New York City
Applied to UCB UCLA UCSD UCI UCSB
Intended Major: Econ
Overall GPA: 3.9ish (got only one B in my english class)
Total Credit Units: 68 semester units by spring (not sure if all of’em are transferable)
Major Requirement: completed for UCB & UCLA, missing 1 or 2 for UCSD, UCI, & UCSB
IGETC: ?? fack that…but took lots of similar classes
Essay: Decent
EC’s: 2 job experience, a few volunteer works & awards from current cc.

Though I of course know UC’s are soooo notorious for not accepting OOS students,
I really really wanna go to UC, it’s always been my final goal since high school.
and looks like some of the schools are gonna release their decisions soon.

So anybody have any idea what my chance is gonna be?

denied at SDSU with a 3.92 GPA, now i’m really nervous for UC’s

^ Its worth noting that SDSU gives priority to people who attended a CC in SD.

Also, SDSU gives priority to people who have certain requirements for them, like a speech class and the American Institutions requirement. I got accepted to SDSU, but I’m from a local CC and have those required classes. There are several people on the SDSU Transfer Decisions page who got denied with a high GPA, while others with low GPA were accepted. I haven’t quite figured that out yet…

@ LiamSP: You have a solid chance I think. Welcome to California if you get in!

@ gopackgo555: My sister got denied from SDSU as well.lol

@ eyespy: Oh okay, that makes sense. Thanks for that. My sister had a 3.6 GPA but she didn’t take speech so I’m surprised that she got into CSULB since I assumed all CSU’s required speech. We’re not from the SD area either.
