Reflection

[li] Strengths: I’m applying to a unique program in the smallest school NU offers (Communication Disorders in School of Communication). I also think my essays were really strong, and I showed a LOT of interest in the school by attending info sessions, visiting many times, and contacting people at NU. I also think my strong involvement in the arts and with language shows how well rounded I am.
[/li]

[li] Weaknesses: My scores? I think I’m at the low end… :(
[/li]

General Comments: I’m anxiously waiting!!! I love NU and really hope I get in- I’d be so happy there and I’d be sure to get a fantastic education. I’m planning on double majoring in Communication Disorders and Psychology!! Good luck everybody! :)

I hope it’s this Friday too, but I still am iffy on it being that early due to the extension (And that extension even extended the due date of some of supplementary materials, so it wasn’t remedied quickly). But I’d love for it to be early.

Alowell- I’m not going to chance, solely on principle, as this isn’t a chances page, however I think that your subjective areas make up for the test scores, so I wouldn’t worry about it bringing you down. Communication Disorders sounds interesting!

@rlkchlk That’s awesome! I’m so glad to meet someone else doing engineering! What part of Kansas are you from? I live in Overland Park, just outside Kansas City.

I honestly don’t think it’s safe to assume anything right now. NU probably will do their own thing rather than go by what other universities do. For now, I think we all have to try to calm our nerves (ah!) and wait and see what happens.

I’m really nervous haha. i hope i get in, so that i don’t have to do a boatload of applications over winter break. and i really think the school is my best fit, i hope they see that too >_<. 9 days to go.

@3030981 Overland Park too! How weird is that! I would have gone to BVNW if I stayed in Kansas.

Just from a Hurricane Sandy person’s viewpoint - schools out here (eg Columbia) extended deadlines much longer than Northwestern did and their decisions are coming out today/this weekend. So I hope it’s tomorrow!!

It kind of sucks, but I have to do other apps anyway. I applied ED, obviously, and I love NU, obviously, but financial stuff may not go our way. If it does, I’ll commit, but I had to apply elsewhere to both safeties, and other schools I like.

Rckchlk, I guess if other schools are getting their decisions out despite extended deadlines, then it’s safe to assume it won’t affect NU. That might mean that tomorrow is a possibility.

I know someone’s said it, but I’m just making sure. It comes out at 5pm CST?

adezar et al - DO NOT BE NERVOUS! Either you got in, or you didn’t. The world will go regardless, and if you are applying to NU, and think you have a chance, then you have obviously been hugely successsful through HS, and will be at a great college for you soon. I know it’s ED season, and you will find out soon, but either way, it will be good for you - opportunities are there either way.

Thousands of qualified kids do not make it in, just because it is a numbers game. Life goes on, and opportunities do too, so make the most of what you can.

I’m really hoping that we’ll find out tomorrow!
But, just a question…I know that Columbia ED results came out today, but applicants were emailed 3 days ago that they would find out today. Does Northwestern do this as well, or is it possible to just get an email tomorrow without any notice?

NUgraddad and NUdad are both insanely helpful. I’d just like to tell you that you guys are awesome. I’ve probably said that a lot, but you guys take your time to help us hopefuls.

44Sunsets, assume that the email they send won’t be preceded by anything, since people are guessing as to when they will send it.

EDNUFTW, I’m guessing you’re a ■■■■■. Feel free to join in with competent discussion if you aren’t.

Yeah, I don’t think NU sends out any sort of notification about if decisions are ready or not, at least I’ve never heard anyone say that they did. I know my friend applying to Duke said she got an email letting her know that decisions would be emailed on the 12th…but NU hasn’t alerted people before.

im not a ■■■■■ Crimsonstained7. I m just as worried as you are. I just really want to know when they’ll let us know… i think bc the questbridge ppl found out this week, theyll probably tell us tomorrow 6pm eastern time
