Muir is the most social and has the best parties =]

Does one (or more) college work better for engineering majors? Warren b/c it's close to engineering blgs? Muir b/c engineers have so many req'ts of its own that low GE req'ts help? Other?

Warren is best for engineering majors... I think some of their GE's are covered by required classes for engineers. (Only engineers can overlap GE's). Warren or Muir is your best bet.

Warren is definitely best for engineers:
1) because of the location and its close proximity to the engineering buildings
2) the GEs are more lenient for engineering majors or something, or like they overlap with engineering major GEs, or something where its easier for engineering majors to finish their GEs
3) peaceful environment. You'll want it for all the studying you'll be doing.

If you are an engineering major in Warren, you have 6 less GEs than Warren students who are not engineering majors.

Also a good idea to be in Warren if you want a minor in something unrelated to your major, like I am d:. The GEs make this very easy.

If not Warren then I'd pick Marshall. Gosh, I love OVT.

I don't like Muir's GEs. >:0

You're the first person, then, Jackie.

Would I be at a.... "disadvantage" if I want to major in bioengineer and still pick muir as #1? The GE should come out about the same, right?

LOL.

how's the social life at warren?

So in a nut shell: Muir has loose GEs and good parties, Warren is quiet for engineers, and Revelle and ERC have most intense GEs.

What's Marshall like?

Marshalls amazing.

What do you like about it, KShah06?

Marshall's really spirited, I think. They have decent dorms and decent GEs - it's often overlooked as a very middle of the road college. A lot of people I've talked to like it though.

what do you guys think about revelle college?

Shrug I sent in my UC APPS ALREADY!!!!!!!
i put revelle as my first choice and warren as my second...the rest put in order by random assignment...>_>
i'm guessing that if UCSD accepts me, most likely they'll put me into either your first/second/third choice...i dunno

wow, you sent your application in early. I didn't send mine in until nov 30 at like 11 PM

If every choose Muir and Warren as their 1st or 2nd choice, how are the school suppose to have enough space for everyone? Then that must mean nobody attend the other 4 colleges? What's wrong with sixth, it seems fine when I look at the descriptions.

The applicants with the highest point total (calculating it from the Comprehensive Review) are given priority for their 1st choice school while the others are given whatever is left over.

NOT everyone chooses Muir and Warren as their first choices- not everyone is informed enough to know that they have the fewest GEs, etc. A lot of people don't put much care into the colleges, and as a result they just order them randomly.

Kiwieux - just wondering.. why the heck did you put Revelle first? I seriously don't see anything good about being in Revelle. Mediocre dorms, intense GEs, not a particularly good location - the only thing I see is a large parking lot that's relatively close to the dorms.

I was going to put Revelle first because I'm likely to be a pre-med student, and it seemed that Revelle was gonna cover pretty much everything. And then my second choice was ERC because of the beautiful dorms!

Hehe, fortunately, I went online and read what UCSD students think. So now it's muir 1st :) WHeee

lol @ this post. but honestly, if I could do my app again I'd apply to muir for sure (I'm in warren). Its just that I don't really like eating at CV everyday..and that's actually kinda important lol. Also, muir writing is easier than warren writing. And their Ge's go with what I want to do a lot better..=/. But again, its very very preference based, so for all the new applicants, think about what you want first, read the Ge requirements carefully, do u like leftover-like food? haah stuff like that
