I didn't get/haven't gotten one yet, and I'm not quite sure why. Most everybody else in the top 20 at my school has gotten one, and I know my index is certainly high enough.

basic stats:
1570 sat, 800/2 x 750 SAT II
straight A's w/ exception of one B+ in Eng, first sem junior year
all AP/honors classes

It just seems odd to me that everybody else with similar stats at my school got one, and I didn't... weird, definately. And yeah, sweetdreams87, I guess I sort of expect(ed) it too. Oh well, what can you do.

yeah, i got the invite too. i'm not gonna apply cuz, just like bri, i don't wanna take someone else's chances away, and i've already been admitted somewhere else so i'm not likely to go to cal anyway

My stats SUCK and I got one. I'm Asian also, not URM. WEIRD. Well, actually, my stats don't SUCK that much, but they are nothing compared to everyone else's. I don't know why. It's so strange, but I'm not complaining. haha

i have a question. is it possible to get regents from more than one school? i mean like to actually get the scholarship and not just be nominated for the scholarship.
it's funny because i applied to ucsd, thinking they'd give me regents. Instead, ucla and berkeley (two schools i much prefer going to than ucsd) gave me the regents application. so is it possible for me to get both (don't wanna jinx myself, knock on wood)? congrats to all ya'll. my interview is on march 20. i'm from socal. good luck!

I know several people who also got both scholarship invites (congrats!) and I don't see why not. I don't think the UCs keep in contact with each other about this stuff. Besides, I can't see one school "giving up" the chance to have you by agreeing that only one of them will give you the Regents'.

How many letters of rec are you guys bringing to your interviews?

"For Regents they do it by SAT score. If you are around 1570 and above, you win."

Last year, I was the valedictorian with a 1580 and I didn't get one. The salutatorian had a 1560 and he didn't get one either. However, people who got 1400s and were ranked in the teens in my high school received the Regents' Scholarship. Anyway, in the end I chose to go to Stanford and the salutatorian chose to go to Harvard. So if you don't get a Regent's Scholarship it's not like you weren't qualified for it. Sometimes these things are just random.
