Wow! Looking over this thread, I’ve got everything but the GPA. I sure hope they will take the holistic approach with my application. It’s been a loooong time since I’ve been in school. Luckily, I’m at ACC now and my grades will make my GPA go up.
Even though I’m already accepted at Concordia, I’m really really hoping UT will say yes.
Hi all! I got into COLA International Relations and Global Studies with a 3.9 gpa and 40 hours from ACC. I had 2 LOR, lots of work experience, and decent volunteer involvement. Congrats to everyone who has already heard back, and good luck to those who are still waiting!
Have any of the accepted students tried using IDA to see what credits transferred? When I go into IDA, none of my courses are there, the page is blank. Anyone else having this issue?
@johnnylawson Did you already request an audit? I haven’t had any problems.
The website is awful, though. Took me like ten minutes to figure out how to put in a request.
Hey all! I was accepted yesterday afternoon to COLA as a history major!
Stats: I had a 3.9 GPA when I graduated from Tyler Junior College this past May with 62 credit hours (A.A. in history). Two essays, no recs, and only one extracurricular (Sigma Kappa Delta, the English honor society for two year colleges). However, on top of my regular full-time job, I also tutored at my college last fall semester in early American history, which I think may have helped towards my acceptance!
It looks like unfortunately I’ll have to take another math and science class while at UT, since not all of my courses transferred. But them’s the breaks! I’m super excited regardless!!! Good luck to everyone still waiting for a response, and congratulations to those of you that’ve already been accepted! I hope to see you in January.
@johnnylawson My bad, my computer took awhile to load this page. That’s strange that your courses wouldn’t show under the results (I had trouble with the site as well…it’s a bit confusing at first.) To view mine, I just clicked the audit ID number and it brought up a detailed list of everything I have taken and still need to take.
It’s not working for me. I can see that 72 of my credits apparently transferred, but it won’t show me which classes they were. I’ll call the admissions office in the morning.
@amandabru to be honest your GPA is a little low. UT looks at 3.5 and above when transfer and you’re an international as well so it might be harder. However, I think you got a shot if your essays are superb + 4 recs
@leonXiao I don’t think you’ll be rejected so far all the people that have been accepted into CNS have 3.5 GPA’s and higher, and you have a 3.87 which is super good.
hi! how was your application? as I said, I got 3 essays, 4 great recommendation letters and a 3.4 gpa. what comforts me is that I have 2 international friends that got in with 3.3 last year. and also one with 3.8, everyone to the COLA.
