Texas A&m Spring 2014 Update Thread

Hey everyone, the conference for new students is dec 6. right?
Is there other day as optional?. I guess most of us have final test the Monday after that weekend. And I don’t want to expend the entire weekend there because I won’t be able to study. But, is is a complete weekend conference, or is it only Friday?
Well, I most probably ask it to admissions.

Idson123 - The NSC is in January. I believe the dates are 7-8 or 9-10.

Anyone who applied to Petroleum Engineering got their reply already?

Any idea when financial aid stuff will be awarded to students?

When we contacted A&M financial aide they indicated, “We haven’t started to run the report to award you yet but it typically is mid-November. If you haven’t been awarded by the end of November, please contact us then.” If you are a current student somewhere else there is a form you must complete to cancel aid at that school. Contact them for the form.

about a month ago i went to the financial aid office at my current university and told them my situation, they just canceled my aid in the spring for me, I didn’t have to fill out any form.

this is driving me insane…still nothing… tamu admissions on texags.com said should be before thanksgiving by the latest though.

what’s your major?

first choice animal science second choice psychology

I got accepted today!
… for Nutritional Sciences major :D

The Rise and The Stack… good places to live or on-campus is better?

@chir490 - The Rise looks awesome to live at. I’ve been inside once and it is pretty damn awesome. It’s very new; I think this is the first semester it has been open because they barely finished construction in about June/July. I don’t know the truth to it, but rumor is that there is quite a waiting list to move in.

both are expensive though… i’m gonna be at campus village

I chose Epwright and Hullabaloo hall (MechEng) and as any other option Northside residences , do you guys have any recommendations or reviews about them?

So if I haven’t heard anything by now is that a bad sign? Meaningless? What?

All my documents made it on time and were processed on time.

CheapSunglasses - I wouldn’t say it’s a bad sign, but it is a reason for concern. I’ve heard before people say if you haven’t heard yet then there is still a possibility but take it for what it’s worth. I don’t blame you; I would be nervous as heck!

@itscole What’s the rent for 1 or 2 bedroom apartment at Campus Village? …coz it’s not written on their website.

@mtreys Looking at the luxury and amenities of The Rise, I’m pretty sure it has quite a waiting list haha. Maybe sublet or sublease could get me in.

I know a 4x4 is $499 per month without electricity (I signed yesterday). So a 1 or 2 bedroom will be more than that. I would assume 2x2 is somewhere in the 600 range, and a 1 bedroom in the 700 range. I could be wrong though. You can call and ask!

Thanks itscole! :)

ACCEPTED! This is the best day ever!
