Any engineering students hear back from uw?

@colegmaroo my gpa is 3.4 but i personally don’t think it is that low condisering how competitive the programs i was studying at my previous college were. i have undergraduate research experience and worked as a mentor and a prep staff in laboratories. i was involved in a couple of students organizations while i was in college. the thing is…i am non traditional. i had several medical withdrawals. it is also my second time transferring and i have been out of school for about two years. i guess i have to take some classes from community college to prove that i am ready for school again though i can’t really think of what i can take. i have 90 semester credits which is the same as 135 quarter credits. i am going to talk to the admissions to at least figure out why i was rejected.

Sorry to hear about those rejection letters.

I just got my acceptance letter on Friday, June 28th. My package came the following Saturday.

Hey guys, my question is the same as many other people…I’m an engineering student(computer). I applied to the university and I have not heard back, I also applied to the department.

I was expecting to get two letters…one from the university, and then one from the department later on, or am I wrong? am I supposed to get only one?

Youre supposed to get 2 of those

still waiting for the decision…

No one hears back yet? The wait is driving me crazy

No, “rocky”, what major? Are you transferring from a community college?

Me computer science

Still waiting…

What’s your major?

I applied into UW Bothell CSS for the Fall. I haven’t heard anything yet. Right now I’m going with, “no news is good news!”

Why? Its not very hard to get in UW Bothell

UW seattle comscie and still waiting.
when is the last day of admission decision. Is it 31st july ?

@rockyuw, you’re wrong about that, I contacted UW Bothell about their CSS program, they said in the previous years, the average accepted GPA and acceptance rate is almost the same as the one in Seattle, they told me average GPA for CS classes are about 3.8, which is crazy…CSS is getting very competitive at UWB.

My major is Civil Engineering. I’ve submitted my app to Seattle.

Hey guys, I found this amazing website just now. You can check all the engineering departments admission statistics from 2005 to now in details. I hope this would help. Good luck!

Hey everybody,

I’ve been reading this forum for quite some time now, and since I heard back from admissions today, I thought I should submit a post of my own. I applied to both Computer and Electrical engineering, I just found out this morning that I have been accepted to EE!

GPA: 3.71

EE Pre-Req GPA: 3.71

CE Pre-Req GPA: 3.68

I also have some solid extra curriculars and special interests as to why I applied to these departments. I feel good about my essay, it could have been better, but it also could have been much worse. I’ll post later about the status of my CE and general applications as well.

congratulations on you acceptance to EE :). So I’m guessing you got a rejection letter from CE?

I also applied for those two departments, but haven’t heard back. I’m transferring from a community college though, how about you?

Thanks for the info!
