UT Austin 2011/12 Transfer Guide

College of Liberal Arts. No biggie

Ha, I guessed that right after I posted.

I wonder when communications will find out.

anyone from college of natural sciences heard yet?

@BigBH2011 I applied for COLA (English & Writing) and have a 3.79 and still have not heard back either maybe we’ll hear back next week ( or at least that is what i am telling myself)

1st choice: Electrical Eng.
2nd choice: Aerospace Eng.

GPA: 3.75
Transfer Credits: 59
Current College: Univ of Texas at El Paso
Clubs: IEEE, Univ Honors, MAES

what are my chances? How long does it take for them to accept transfer students? Has anybody been accepted yet?

Nothing from school of communications yet :frowning: Come on UT hurry up!

@cherrybomb82: We’re in the same boat, I wouldn’t expect anything for a while though :(

I feel you guys! I think I’m starting to harbor resentment. This feels like when I used to date and would become hung up on some guy who would never call me. Hahahaha…

This sucks :frowning: I would have to move from San Antonio to Austin if I get accepted and my I havent been able to look at apartments because I dont even know if Im accepted. I hate all this waiting. I really did not expect it to take this long. Now Im feeling like I wont find out till may.

I’m moving from Dallas. I understand what you’re saying. Don’t worry!

I think we’ll be hearing back this week and up to the end of the month. Students without 30hrs are the ones going to hear back at the end of May.

I’m also waiting for acceptance before I start looking at apartments. Does any one know what will be going on at the orientation? If accepted I wanted to go to the first meet, but I have other things going on. I was wondering what times it would take up.

If you’re applying to liberal arts with a GPA over 3.5, then the probability of your acceptance is high enough to justify you doing a preliminary search for apartments.

I’m hating waiting to see if all of you get in. I thought once I got accepted I wouldn’t have to keep coming back to this thread, but now I’m nervous for everyone else.

To those accepted… Did you recieve an email first or did yall check the ut eid status check page and receive the acceptance… What i mean by this is should i check my email or check the status page everyday and get disappointed by the currently reviewing status.

Check the status page. That is the first place your acceptance will appear. They do not send an e-mail regarding acceptance, only snail-mail.

Thanks, Do you know when mccombs admission decisions should be rolling around?

Wait, so if you make a 90 in a class at UTSA (which is a 4.0), does it transfer as a A- (3.6) at UT???

futurelonghorn99: What are your stats? McCombs applicants will mostly be notified at the end of May due to the competitiveness of the college. I’m applying for McCombs as well and so far have a 4.0 with the last 2 indicator courses currently in progress.

AirForcePilot: If you get an A- on your UTSA transcript, it transfers as an A- (3.67) to UT. It depends if UTSA does the +/- system of just the A, B, C, etc. system. Stop worrying so much. You’ve been posting a lot all over the site. Focus on your first semester in CAP then start planning everything out. Spending all your time on CC is just going to drop your GP

The reason I’m posting so much on this site is so I can get as much information as I can for my first semester at UTSA. Frankly, the UTSA website does not provide enough information for CAP students, besides stating the basic requirements. I just want to be organized for next year, and not be confronted with a big surprise. I want to go to medical school, which requires a high GPA, and certain required classes. I just need to be certain that I’m taking the correct steps forward. That’s all.

I’m not saying being prepared is a bad thing. But worrying too much can hurt you. Work hard your first semester and see how things go. Things RARELY go exactly as planned. Coming from someone who suffered several panic attacks this year, ‘going with the flow’ a bit won’t result in “a big surprise” later on as long as you aren’t completely lazy about everything.

Call the CAP coordinators for help. I considered doing the CAP program last year, and the advisors were very helpful. I can guarantee they’ll better answer your questions than many people on this site.

You know… now that I think about it… I forgot that the 3.55 that I have at my college may not be the 3.55 at UT. I totally forgot how it could be different. Hopefully I’m wrong.
