UT only looks at transferable credits, Esteef. Use the ate thing to figure out which courses transfer. Don’t worry about it too much. I don’t imagine your GPA changing too much. In fact, UT’s GPA may be higher than 3.55 (it was certainly raised for some people)!

The 30 hours you have to take before they consider you can include AP credits, right? I remember reading a post somewhere in this thread saying that they did. In that case, why do they need my final transcript? I have 16 completed hours at my current university and at least 18 more from AP credits (I retook Diff Calc (AB Calc) and Phys I, but if those credits counted I’d have 31. Not sure about what my government score means, but that’s not important).

Such would obviously indicate that they only want the hours completed from your current university.

Edit: Unless I’m supposed to resend scores to them… I suppose I can fork over the $15 if it means they won’t look at my current semester’s grades, lol.

^^ Or, from what I’m reading, the hours have to be on the transcript of my current university in order for UT to consider them? I haven’t taken credit for my various history courses/gov’t/econ yet so they’re not on my current transcript. Sending the scores directly to UT won’t make a difference? I don’t qualify for CAP (engineering) even though I enrolled under it, if that means anything.

Sorry for the disorganization… just trying to figure out if there’s any way for them to speed this up.

012983: Here’s the ‘lowdown’ at least from my perspective. I got about 16 hours from high school that are usable, and they DO go towards the 30 hour requirement. But they must also be on your transcript. When I originally sent it, I didn’t receive credit for it because I had to complete a certain amount of hours at my current college to claim it. I was THEN able to claim it, giving me over the 30 hours that are required.

Note though, that some majors take longer to make decisions because of competition (engineering, business, communications) and if you are missing pre-recs for your major, you’ll have to wait until you send in your Spring grades.

You’re in CAP, yeah? That means in order to get in, you MUST complete 30 hours at your CAP college. There’s no way getting around that. I feel you dude, I applied for Business, but I’m finishing the last pre-recs this semester, so I’ll find out in late May. Good luck though!

Hopefully that all made sense. It’s 2 in the morning and I’m getting tired of studying Accounting :P

Ah crap. I think I’ll call tomorrow and see if just sending them in will work, I really hate working with my advising office. Although since it’s long past the deadline I guess that won’t work/matter… but I guess I can hope. I’d give a lot for them not to consider my current semester’s grades, heh.

At least those AP credits will give me my 30-hour CAP approved course hours. Without those credits, I’d only have 15 in-residence hours. Thanks for the reply, and good luck to you too.

Gah, every time this thread bumps up I get excited and then nothing…yet.

sigh :(

This is how I am beginning to feel about logging in to check my application status.

@JammyD
My stats are:
GPA 3.95 From UH HONORS college
My last indicator course is in progress but i already have 30 Hours and when i called the Admission board they said my Decision will come in early, probably by the end of April
Applied to McCombs as my first choice, CONS as a second choice

Sorry guys, lol.

Futurelonghorn: You’ll probably get in dude. Are all your classes Honors, or just some? I’ve contacted admissions twice, and I was told that if every indicator course isn’t completed, you have to wait until the end of May after you send in your Spring grades. Is it Cal 2? Regardless, good luck!

@lindsbb and @DarkRyder: I am right there with y’all!!! That quote is perfect. Ugh.

Damn, no one yet? At this point I just want to see one of us hear back, even if it’s not me.

It looks like they’ll notify many people at one time, then pause for a while, and repeat. Waiting is killing me! It’s all I can think about!

Did you guys apply anywhere else? Maybe you’ll hear back from other schools as well? Come on guys, don’t stress.

I mean, I’m stressing about other schools. But just hope, pray, and live until you hear back.

I’ve only applied to UT so far. If I don’t get in I’ll apply to my local uni. They have like a August application deadline. LOL. I’ll stick around here for my bachelors if UT rejects me and take off for my masters. It was my original plan until last summer.

Did anyone apply for honors transfer at UT (Natural Sciences?)

I applied to Texas State and heard back from them about two weeks after I applied. I got my financial aid package back already and even a request for me to put in an honors application. I can even take my new student orientation online starting tomorrow and pick out classes but I am waiting to hear back from UT (obviously). I am just wanting a yes or no at this point so I can move forward with planning for next fall. I would be sad if I don’t get in but not devastated.

ACCEPTED!! I was accepted to my first choice, pre-nursing. I wish everybody the best of luck.

Congrats, glitzy!!!

Congrats on everyone that got in! Still waiting on my decision but I’m pretty sure if A&M declined me so will UT. At least I got Baylor lol. I still haven’t heard back from Texas State which I find weird, but I did apply very late.

Just checked the UT site after I saw glitzy’s post, and I got in! First choice petro engineering!

Wasn’t expecting to get in at all, since I always heard petro eng was uber competitive.
