So my situation is a little bit different.
My first semester of college I failed 3 classes. I attended treatment for my alcoholism that winter break and have since received nothing but A’s and a few B’s. My community college calculates my grade as a 3.63 due to grade replacement. I recently learned that UT will include my 3 F’s from that first semester in my GPA. Bringing me to a 3.0 with 48 hours something like that… I have taken all my basics as well as science classes regarding my major (geology and environmental studies)
I wrote optional Essay C discussing my alcoholism and the journey of recovery over the past two years. I wrote about my involvement in Alcoholics and Anonymous and the significant changes it has brought about in my life.
I am applying to Geography in the College of Liberal Arts. I have worked as an intern for an Environmental NGO in Indonesia. I have also attended numerous seminars on conservation put on by the Asia Society. I have also been on Ecotourism trips in Way Kambas National Park in Sumatra. Both my required essays were based on my interest and work in conservation.

I have been reading this transfer page over and over. Its probably not helping my sanity.
haha
Good luck everyone!!
Chances?

gabbybelzer, could you chance me? my stats are on page 59 and here as well:

“Here are my stats. I’m looking into transferring into Natural
Sciences and second choice Liberal Arts. I will have completed 45 hours at Trinity University with a 3.53. I also have 30 credit hours of AP scores. What do you think my chances are? Good luck!”

surely i can chance you! but let me just clarify that i am by no means an expert. the average GPA for transfer to Natural Sciences is 3.56. If you are in state I really think that you have a good shot of getting in. Just as long as you have good essays and resumes. But all in all, with your GPA, if you have a tight application, I think you have a good chance.

Hey I applied to UT for Spring 2012. I have 73 hours completed at a community college and Texas State but I got a notification on my status check that they needed a final transcript for this semester? Does this mean that not even 30 of my earned hours are transferrable or is this something everyone got?

Does anyone know if UT accepts transcripts electronically? I know you can’t fax or make copies and send them but I was wondering if sending it electronically would be considered official or not.
