<p>Yeah, my backup’s UT Austin, but at their undergraduate school for general studies instead of the business school. I may have messed up with a housing contract there, but I digress.</p>
<p>As you can imagine, I’d much rather go to NYU Stern then just settle for UT Austin general studies. Even with the whole super-ridiculously-more-expensive aspect in mind ;D</p>
<p>I’ve already accepted going to UT. At least I’ll know a lot of people there!</p>
<p>Also, if you guys don’t mind, could the Stern people post some stats? (Nothing too detailed, just the basics.) Thanks ahead of time! :D</p>
<p>does anyone know how waitlist works? is it in groups, like admissions, or do they only call on a certain day or what? really nervous about getting into stern. =/</p>
<p>@jcyoung91 Don’t waste your time trying to get Financial Aid to match other offers. NYU has a reputation for being stingy with financial aid for a reason. Unless you have something like a merit scholarship or work-study, they are extremely unlikely to increase the offer.</p>
<p>Maybe my S will get the financial information and acceptance package today. If not, he said he is thinking of calling NYU.</p>

<p>Has anybody received the acceptance packet?(especially internationals). I am international and do not know when I will get it. Is the packet sent via DHL/Fedex (or other such couriers) or through USPS for internationals. I received my email on may 7. It is more complicatd for us internationals as we need to get our visas and stuff and need to respond ASAP.</p>
<p>Hi krispykreme, I’m an international student as well. I got into Stern last Friday and I haven’t received anything yet either, I’m guessing it will only arrive next week because I doubt they’ll be using the courier service. I’m kinda worried too.</p>

I called the person who emailed me and she said we might receive it probably around the end of this week. We have to first do the deposit and then receive our I20s. there is also housing to be considered. I do not want to end up somewhere crappy(especially as I do not have a particular hall or roommate in mind). Keep me updated if you get anything and I will tell you if I get my packet. <p>i’m international and i received my acceptance package on the 11th of May. They shipped it out of NY on the 8th. They sent it via UPS express mail. haven’t gotten any sort of financial aid notification yet, though…</p>

It was Christina Harris, all she said was that there will be more details in the acceptance packet. I don’t wanna end up in some crappy housing as well, why can’t they give more details thru the email? It’s much easier anyway. A girl from Singapore who got admitted in March got her acceptance packet thru Fedex, I really hope they’re gonna use the courier service this time as well. Yea I will and I’m probably gonna email Christina and ask her for more details. Yea can’t wait, I’m really excited and nervous at the same time. haha. We’re gonna rock New York City! lol.</p>

<p>An I-20 is a document given by the university that the international student wishes to attend in the US that has to be taken to the local US embassy/consulate in order to get the visa. You can get an F1 student visa with this form. It is only issued by the university after you pay the commitment deposit. You cannot get a student visa without this document. You will also be needing it to enter the United States i.e you have to carry it along with you.</p>
<p>I guess you must be a local student. I think almost all international students who are enrolling this fall must know this by now.</p>

<p>I simply have no idea on what to do. I do not know how much must be paid and through which website. I do not know anything about Albert or my Net id or setting up my mail account. That is why I am so desperate to get my packet soon. Are you Asian funk? kekekekeke where are you from? should give me some faint idea. I think you were accepted before me and funk. I got my email on May8 my country time but May7 in the US. I think NYU would have sent the packet out only on monday because of the weekend in between. t generally takes DHL or FEDEX three days to get here. (business). I hope its through courier. Man, this is torture… It is like placing something delicious in front of you and you are not able to eat it for some damn reason. AHHHHHH</p>

And I’m really confused right now, I checked out other posts from other threads and there was this Singaporean girl who got her acceptance letter in April thru Fedex but when I contacted the person who emailed me regarding my waitlist decision, she told me that the university only uses regular mail. I didn’t wanna imply that she’s lying so I just didn’t reply her email. Even kekekekeke got it thru UPS express mail, so I’m really confused. I don’t think I can take my mind off it until the acceptance packet is in my hands. I got the email the same time as you so we should be receiving it about the same time as well. <p>guys, I just got my acceptance packet today. it came thru UPS as well, i think the regular mail is only used for the locals. so glad to see the acceptance packet! couldn’t help but look at it over and over again.</p>
<p>I received the email on May 6th. I live in Beijing, and ahh, i already sent my deposit and programmed my NetID. only problem is, my NetID works just fine for everything EXCEPT applying for housing. so, i can’t even apply for a preferred dorm, or any dorm for that matter! ah, i’m scared i’ll end up dorm-less! haha</p>

<p>I haven’t got it yet. Hopefully i’ll get it tomorrow. Otherwise I am calling NYU. The wait is killing me. Evrytime the doorbell rings, I rush to the door only to find that it is somebody else. I hope UPS comes here soon. What do we do for housing if it does not work. Time is running out. I cannot think of anything else but that packet.
