Why do you say 1%? What are you stats?

I have gpa 4.0 and a lot of ECs, but the problem is that I am currently taking 3 pre-reqs and 3 breath requirement courses…I don’t think they will admit me.

Why wouldnt they accept you if your taking 3 pre-reqs and 3 breadth courses?

because a lot of applicants have completed all those courses before this spring, which means they have higher chances than me. Moreover, they will only admit about 100 applicants out of 1800.

That is not true… It’s important that you complete the pre-reqs by Spring 2009 (By the time you transfer)… Has does not give more weight on those who complete all pre-req. by Fall 2008.

also, I am asian…you need to take that into consideration. Their business school ranked down from top 3 to #11 because they don’t have diversified student bodies--------->too many asians…

if you couldnt get in man, i dont know who would. ive seen your stats and you are more than qualified. but again, haas is really a toss up =(

Well, I’ve been through the entire Haas process last year, and boy was it torturous. I was in contact with numbers Haas applicants, and nobody made it from CC in the 2007 admissions cycle (maybe 1). Only around ~2 made it from the 2006 cycle. I was rejected also.

I’ve talked it over with admissions (multiple times) and I have a general idea of my error. I didn’t have a strong essay, and I got booted because of that. I had everything, the finance internship, the 4.0 GPA, AGS, extracurricular, etc but it still wasn’t enough.

To put bluntly:

lol. anybody that says your chances aren’t high due to reason x you just dismiss reason x. if you wanted an honest opinion you wouldn’t trash everything that is negatively said. but i understand, you want to get in badly.

so 21% admission rate now. probably gonna go down from there. so barely above 1/6 chance probably. basically, roll a dice and if it’s a 6 you got in. that kind of sucks.

but hey, looks like you’ve worked hard, and i hope you do get in.

Russkiy_Bear, yes I have already applied and now I’m waiting for the decision.

I am aware of the strict admissions process. I have started writing my essays and plan to have solid essays by the time November comes around.

cr_book-

I am aware that the 21% consists of competitive applicants who are as qualified as I am. That doesn’t give me a reason to not apply or try harder. I’ve got some things planned for Fall 2008 and this summer!

UCB/NYU dreamer-

Goodluck man, let me know how it goes. BTW, do you mind sending me your essays?

Russkiy_Bear, if i get in, i may let you read them ;)

I can’t wait, it’s just a week…

O come on! Let me take a look beforehand. Don’t see what is the difference if you get in or not!

hey russiky bear what were the prompts for fall 07 applicants for haas?

OMG you have amazing stats! I was considering applying to Haas but heard it was very hard to get into so I am most probably going for USC, but do you have any advice for a new student?

freakguy54231-

I am unfamiliar with the prompts for 2007. I will be applying Fall 2008. Is that what you meant?

Harvard Business-

You have PM.

Harvard Business, I applied this year so I will post the prompts. I am at work now though so will do it when I get home…

Russkiy_Bear, i’m sorry but i don’t really feel comfortable posting my essays. They are quite personal. But if I get in, I may not care cuz I’ll be so happy…
Then, I’ll see :)

No worries. Goodluck!

hey guys, there are the essays that were part of 2007 application
