When does USC's RD decisions come out?

I had been hearing rumors about earlier dates, too, but I think icy’s scoop is reliable (I remember icy from last year’s posts!) and if USC mails decisions on 22nd, SoCal would be getting them on the 23rd (Weds seems a looong way away) and it usually takes another day or two for those envelopes to wend their way eastward.

No one has heard if they are sending all Fall admits out first, then Spring admits, then…ulp…rejections, as they have in prior years or if they will come at once.

Stay tuned.

Think it could get to Ohio by the 25th? I hope so…

Will we be able to know our results through the internet, after they send the letters? I live in a different country so anyway to know my results faster would be really nice…

Win! :D

eddie997, they do not post decisions online (at least never in the past), but international acceptances go out by DHL and you would get an email from DHL telling you a package (1 pound) is on its way from USC. When international students start reporting on CC they received those emails, it’s usually the first notice the rest of us have that decisions are finally flowing.

Are there many internationals this year? Should a thread be made so they can alert us to the arrival of the DHL packages?

A little off topic but: for everyone waiting for decisions, what have your application status been set to?

YES. BEST PUN EVER.

Not sure if this is the best place to ask
But I applied to the Thornton School of Music for a non-performance major (you can guess what that is). I’ve heard that it’s harder to get into SCA, Thornton, and the Drama school than it is for USC in general but is that based on the performances you need for the latter two and the supplements for SCA? And does it depend on the major?

While I’d rather not get into USC than to get in without being in the major I want, I’m wondering if I basically signed my own USC death warrant.

I’d better stop reading this thread as we are on the East coast and will probably hear later than many of you! I might start getting worried if I read that others have gotten thick letters!

Signing off for now but will be asking all of you more knowledgeable than myself about USC - it is my daughter’s absolute first choice but I’ve read a lot of student reviews online which make me wonder if it’s a good school, if there’s good teaching, if it’s just a factory, whether the social life is okay … more later, I’m sure. Have appreciated all I’ve read here, thanks to all.

I heard that decisions for internationals are coming in late March. How long does DHL take to arrive in Asia? Do they DHL rejections and waitlists as well or just acceptances?

I’m a nervous east coast dad. Has anyone on the west coast received their mail yet?

We are in California and our mail gets here around 1:00. You won’t need to ask though, this board will explode when the admission letters start to arrive in the mail box.

I live in Norcal and the mail just came and still no letter.

Southern California…no envelope today.

Same here, nothing in SoCal today

I have a friend who works in the admissions office that said letters will be mailed for sure on the 22. Which means that they sure come around the 24 for us in SoCal.

no envelope, SoCal

Bummer. I wish everyone the best of luck.

wait if they are mailed on the 22nd, doesn’t it mean that SoCal should receive on the
23rd?

Did you apply to Music Industry? (My boyfriend and I were both MUIN, so you can PM me with specific questions.) That’s much easier to get into than, say, performance or composition. But you’re right in saying the art-based programs are much tougher to get into due to small class sizes.

BUT – You have to be accepted by USC and your school to get into your program of choice. You might end up getting accepted by USC but rejected by your program. It happened a lot to people I know, and it’s better than getting rejected outright since you can transfer into the program of your choosing the next semester or the nest year.

Good luck!
