Whats going on guys! I’m 5’6 Filipino male, Im from the valley, grew up in LA, hollywood, Santa monica, Venice beach so i know the whole hollywood club scene and concert scene form the key club, to the Avalon, to cinespace and to have fun at the beach!. As i have lived in LA i not only hang out with a filipino crowd only, i love meeting people of different ethnicities to learn perspectives of other cultures and languages, i can mix and mesh with people of all types as long as you like to have a good conversation about your views on life and all that.
I love to skate, snowboard, exercise, pretty athletic, i LOVE to be out in the sun, overall im a confident and happy person content with where my life is going right now. I have many friends that live up here already so finding a party network is not hard for me… I for one am very excited to meet a ton of new people on top of those who i already know here!
Everyone that i’ve met so far, for the MOST part, has been down to earth, and real up here. I went up for april 4th spring insight and i had a blast! On top of checking out the campus, i went to my buddies house and went to floatopia! That was quite the party for 10,000 people on the beach, Although it did make the community of ISLA VISTA look like a crazy rager from a movie. That might have turned off some parents from allowing their children to come to this school, but apparently the FACEBOOK event happened to land on the same day as Floatopia and Spring Insight.
Currently i am currently looking for housing, i might be living on a place on Del Playa, in the process of gathering up 5-6 roommates or we can fill the whole place up with 10-12 ppl i know we’d mostly be clean guys, not slobs who never clean the house, and are open to having roommates of any background as long as they are chill when we meet them. Anyways my names Jan and i definitely look forward to meeting all you cool peeps, I got accepted for the communications major at the moment but i think i might change my major to potentially biopsych. Anyways i think the mentality for most students who want to be successful here at SB is “Study hard all week and get **** done, then party your ass off on the weekend!”

If some of you are worried about not meeting the right people, add me on facebook Jan Fisico. I know plenty of people who like to get their work done, while partying on the weekends to blow off steam and to relax and still get GPA’s above 3.8. hit me up if you want any good info for places to eat! i love eating healthy, so Silvergreens is a bomb place in Isla Vista to eat, They are the first restaurant to serve you your own Nutricate Receipt. Which basically means they print out how many calories, grams of fat, grams of carbs, grams of protein you are eating with your meal! Very sick restaurant in my opinion for those who like to eat healthier and watch what they eat instead of tons of greasy crap… Although no one said Freebirds, or Bagel Cafe, or Super Cucas isn’t bad every now and then @ 2-4 am when ur walking home from the weekend rager! Stay safe everyone and hope to see most of you in the fall! I will be moving up in the summertime to take summer classes and work and meet new people up there.
From what people tell me, some have met their best friends while at SB or in any college for that matter in the summer session, as not as many students are there for the summer, and for the students who are there u get to hang out with people you normally wouldn’t and get to know cool things about new people. Alright then guys, pass around the free love and good vibes, and say hello to UCSB!
Sorry for all the writing! im still used my train of thought from my journalism class! its spring break i need to go to malibu right now to visit friends at pepperdine!
