Im sooooo stoked to go to santa barbara…hell of pumped. but yeah im kinda nervous. its so far away from home which is tracy (1 hr from frisco).
Brah, check it out. I’m from the Yay Area (The bay) I’m 18 turning 19 on summer time, I’m old as hell. 5’10’', FILIPINO WSUP. But um, I can cook and my cooking’s on point, yadidi. Holla if you’re in Thurgood Marshall! I’ll be majoring in either Sociology or Political Science. I put Computer Engineering, cause I didn’t think it through when I was applying. Which leads me to the g-thang, I’m an impulse decision type of guy. I’m into the whole military thing so hit me up if you’re into that too. I’ll be joining the ROTC program, whether I get the scholarship or not. I can get pretty damn hyphy (hyper) if I get to know you, but I’ll be shy at first. I can get pretty social if I wanted to. I can come off to be obnoxious or loud or mean to other people, so I’ll work on that. I’m stopping the smoking. Hate drinking. I hate driving too. I only talk like this as a joke.

Whats up guys, I’m Ben and I’m from sacramento. Just like everyone else here, I’m going to ucsb. I’m 6’1’’ 175 pounds, white, brown hair. I played soccer in high school and plan on playing intramurals in college. I play bass guitar and wouldn’t mind finding some other people to play with once I get to ucsb (I like pretty much everything except country). Planning on going into engineering, and I’m a little nervous at how distracted I might be… parties, beach, etc. Gonna have to discipline myself and make sure I get all my work/studying done first haha. I also like making new friends, i’m fairly social but don’t talk excessively.

I’m ****ing PUMPED for ucsb!

Hey!
i’m yishian (Yeh-Shawn) from san diego. STOKED to be going to SB. asian, obviously, no one else would have such a weird name. communications major, on high school dive team, asb (student gov), etc. all that stuff.
i’m going to look on fb, the whole not being able to see who i am talking to thing weirds me out a bit.

I’m Stephy from the OC, I’m middle eastern/armenian. I’m really short, around 4"11 and 95 pounds and I am going to be a Bio Major next year, I’m hoping to go to med. school! I wont lie, I’m nervous to leave home and enter a totally different environment but thats college! I’m really excited though, I think this experience will be really rewarding! I love movies, video games, reading, sleeping, and hanging out with friends. I will not party for the life of me and I plan to be mellow but even if I am smiling I’m internally panicking 24/7. Its quite funny actually, all my friends laugh at me because of it.

I’m Alysse 17 years old, from Oceanside. Light blonde hair, about 5’ 2". UCSB was my first choice because not only does it have great academics, but it’s a perfect location, a beautiful campus, and has a great social aspect. I’ve never been to a real party before, because I’m more into the rave scene than partying, but as soon as I meet people (which I hope to do soon) I plan to go to some parties and also take trips to LA for the raves.
I don’t know anyone who’s going to UCSB so hopefully I meet people. I’m really shy at first, but once I get to know someone I’m retardedly outgoing.
I’ve been taking martial arts since I was 7, but I don’t do any other sports. I can’t dance or sing or anything, but I’m up for anything fun.
I’m SO AMPED!

Hi, I’m Kara and I’m 17 years old (18 next month), white, female, about 5’10". I’m going to probably be a biochem major, and maybe also pre-med. I live in Oroville, which is an hour and a half north of Sacramento, but I lived in Washington and Oregon through 8th grade. I was in Academic Decathlon for 4 years (cuz I’m nerdy like that), and I’ve done track every year except my Junior year, but I’m not very good. When I applied to UCSB I was only mildly interested but once I started looking at it more closely and went and visited everything I really loved it. So I chose it even though I got into everywhere I applied (including Berkeley). I chose UCSB because I liked that it’s smaller than some of the other UC’s I applied to, because of the Beach, and because I liked the general feel of the campus. The regent’s scholarship they offered me didn’t hurt either.

I’m pretty shy around people I don’t know, but I get to be less so as I get to know a person. I’m not really into partying. I plan on joining a few clubs, maybe doing intermural sports.

Hey! My name is Sarah and I’m a 19 year old transfer student, I’m majoring in psychology which I absolutely LOVE I’m so excited for UCSB and I love the fact that it is practically on the beach!( I was born and raised on the beach (Hermosa Beach, CA)) I like all the typical girl stuff like, the beach, tanning, shopping, dancing, partying and clubbing. I’m not the crazy party type but I do like to have a good time. I’m also interested in reading, song lyrics, music, politics, psychology, and debating. As for the physical description, I’m shorter than I want to be( 5’4) , white, and that’s about it I guess!

Feel free to msg me or whatever! Oh and I’m also looking for a roommate because I don’t like the idea of being randomly paired up with someone, so if anyone is interested, just let me know! :)

I just found out I’m going to UCSB. \m/

Well, I’m Matt, and I’m a transfer student from Irvine in Orange Country (not going to UCI because I’ve already lived in Irvine for waaaay too long). I’m 19 (will be 20 this fall), 6’0", and 140 lbs. Half-Asian/half-white. Majoring in business economics w/ an emphasis on accounting. I have a TON of interests, including demographics, cuisine, language, travel, geography, international relations, history, nutrition, health, martial arts, musicology, composing music, writing lyrics, and thinking. I don’t drink or do drugs - not for “moral” reasons, but because I like to keep healthy (I don’t even drink soda). I’m definitely not a prude, and I enjoy nothing more than rocking out at a concert. :)

If we have anything in common, message me, because I didn’t know if I was going to UCSB until just tonight, and I dunno any other (transfer) students going there.

Oh, and does anyone know if it’s possible to rely solely in bike to get around? The only reason I’m able to go to UCSB is because it’s in exchange for getting a car (it was UCI+car, or UCSB w/o car).

you can choose to join zipcar which is essentially a rental car service. you must return the car to the parking spot you found it and the zipcar company rents out the car for $5/hour or $60/day up to 4 days at a time

^ How often would I need to use a car?

yawn, from which high school in Irvine ?

yeah, i just heard about zipcar a few days ago! i’m still unsure if i’m going to have a car at UCSB or not! advice?

^^ Irvine High School. How about you? o.O

^ Well, emilaybaybay from this thread has told me that a mix of (free) bus + bike should suffice, and with zipcar just in case, it doesn’t really seem like owning a car is all that necessary. :)

nice yawn
i am guessing HS class 2007 ?
i am from uni. :)

Yup, '07. I went to Uni for an summer SAT prep class, once.

Wonder how many other Irviners are going to UCSB…
