*First generation (female) to attend college
*Graduated high school in my home country with a 4.0 GPA
*A six year gap between high school and college</p>
<p>So there were a lot of things working for me.
Anyway, does anybody know what are the orientation dates? Also, I would really appreciate if someone could help me with finding off-campus childcare. I am already on the wait list for the UW childcare but it seems that no space would be available by January.</p>

<p>hi! i’ve been watching from the shadows, and felt inspired to join when my transcript loaded this evening. i am super thrilled, and oddly surprised. my gpa is 3.6 and i’m transferring from seattle central community college as a sociology major. (i plan to go on to grad school afterwords.) congrats to those of you who also got in and thank you for posting such helpful information.</p>

<p>travelgirl: yes! i’ve taken three classes from Greg while i’ve been here at central. he is so inspiring and an amazing teacher. i’m currently taking what will be my last class with him - sociology of gender and sex roles. which classes did you take? (i also took intro to sociology and sociology of the media.) what is the sociology department like there at uw?</p>

<p>My gpa is under 3.0, but I explained what caused that in my essay (long gaps between hs and college, lack of direction, found direction and started doing awesome), and I think that helped a lot. I’m also on the older side (29), and transferring from NSCC with my AA already completed. </p>
<p>Also my program (International Studies) doesn’t appear to be super competitive. Good luck to everyone else who is waiting to hear. :)</p>

<p>My “college” listing on the Unofficial Transcript changed from UW Bothell to Arts & Sciences! I applied as a Communications major, so this looks good! Now til the official letter/packet arrive. :)</p>
