Winter 2012- Transfers Accepted/Denied/Pending?

I know this is kind of off topic but this is a recently published 6 page article from the NYT that really spells out the whole situation

<a href=“The China Conundrum - The New York Times”>The China Conundrum - The New York Times;

I think it’s ridiculous that they favor international/OOS students while students whole lived here all their lives are second in line… money changes everything… GL everyone.

I also saw the Seattle Times international student article. I was actually getting on the bus to go to work, and it was on the front page, and my heart totally leapt into my throat for a minute. I actually pulled up the article on my phone and read it on the way to work.

It’s difficult, because the school keeps getting their budget cut. I can see why they’re choosing international students - it helps fund their entire system more than choosing someone like me would. But it still sucks.

And man, the waiting is driving me crazy!

We’re getting into the later half of November, didn’t people hear back around the 10th last year? I’m not going to have any time at all to arrange things if I’m accepted. I really hope we hear something this week!

Last year they were notified as early as the 10th with letters as well as transcripts being uploaded.

Yeah, according to the last year’s post, most students had their transcripts uploaded by now. Maybe it’s different this time. We ll have to wait since there is nothing else to do but wait. Though, I agree with everyone. Waiting is killing me too!

The notification period for Winter 2012 is November - December.

Bahhhhh no mail today and no activity with the transcripts for me!

same <};-(

:( And tomorrow is Friday.

I heard that they do the letters in batches, in alphabetical order. Has anyone near the front of the alphabet gotten a letter yet? The wait is driving me nuts! All of my plans after mid December are hinged on this dang letter.

Anyone happen to know the December Advising & Orientation Session dates?

It is not done in alphabetical order.

I was talking to my coworker about this yesterday and he was like “why haven’t you heard from them yet, it must be a mistake you should contact them!” which made me really scared that I could be forgotten or something… but seems like all of you haven’t heard from them either. It’s seriously driving me nutssss

I believe they have until 2 weeks before the start of the quarter to tell transfer students. The website and the in person “Transfer Thursdays” both stated Nov-December… so it could be a few more weeks I suppose… lets hope not!

Yes, by mail. Unofficial transcripts are always around this time, could be tomorrow or next week. We will know very soon.

Travelgirl: Do you happen to know what order they send letters out by chance? If not alphabetical then… by the date the app was submitted? or it’s completely random

I’m quite sure it’s pretty much random or might as well be random…

It’s random and sent out in batches.

You might be eager to say…oh maybe acceptances first or maybe denies first. In the past these all came out at the same time.

There would just be a big wave of people getting notifications…nothing…and then another big wave of people getting notices…nothing…etc

(my personal guess is that they go with who they really really want and who they really really don’t want first…and then as the batches come to a close it’s more to the people on the fence. that’s a total and complete guess though and i could be wrong)

Hey all, keep watching here because my daughter is waitng to hear about a winter transfer as well. Wanted to let you know that when we met with a dept. advisor a couple weeks ago, she said that she thought that the winter admissions were not going to be sent out until the same time that the fall acceptance letters are sent.
She wasn’t positive, but it’s looking like that might be the case. So it could be into December before we hear anything !
Just wanted you all to know not to give up hope ! We’re still waiting and hoping :)

The chances of going into December seems to be pretty high. How are we suppose to deal with Fall quarter finals and transfer at the same time? December is on gonna be pretty hectic, especially for out of state students. I hope we all hear soon!
